Couldn't really come up with a better title since I haven't written in my journal for sooo longgg, i thought i would use this opportunity while i am renedering my mechanical bug on Maya to update my journal.
Hmmm, how long has it been since my last entry ?? ..... nearly 2 months ago, thats not very good, since i've been doing quite a lot of stuff lately at PCAD and in my spare time. I guess the main reason why i haven't updated in so long is because i now have my own website to act as a portfolio, and i have a blog with blogspot to update my personal life, so theres not much need to update devart. But then i realised today that devart is about the community, and seeing other people work, so i was re-ignited with the deviant flame in my heart so to speak.
Well firstly college life at PCAD is going alright, having a fun time with my new mates and lessons are pretty fun. I don't think i've learnt that much about software and programs, stuff they're teaching are still pretty basic and I probs could have learnt myself online. But it is nice learning something about photoshop and illustrator cus eventhough i may already know it, i still sometimes pick up little bits of stuff i didn't know before since i am self taught.
Also now that i go to college i have to use Macs for my work, and that was pretty hard to get used. and then when i finally started to get a little used to it, i found myself pressing Alt even thought i was on a PC, thinking it was the Cmd key on a Mac. And also with using all these programs i sometimes get a bit mixed up, like i would press the space bar in Maya to pan, when that is only used in adobe programs and for Maya its Alt.
Its going pretty good Maya, i think i'm getting better at it now. I've learnt how to basic texture objects and render them in a nice quality. nect i'm trying to animate the mechanical bug i made, but its proving pretty tricky. I guess i just have to get used to it, and practice makes perfect, so hopefully after a few more tries i'll get the hang of it.
I've also being reading that long thread on the The Student Room about the best animation schools and the courses and interview process. I actually read through the whole thread which is like 40 pages, and some of it was quite interesting too. well in conclusion after reading it i thought that hert uni was pretty good, but then i searched on google maps and realised it was like 5 hours away, so it would be a long journey if i wanted to go home to visit. Then i saw that my second choice Bournemouth uni was only like 2 hours away from me, so i decided to aim to get into Bournemouth uni instead. I know that using travelling distance to determine which uni to go to is a bit bad, but from what i could tell both unis seem pretty good, and going to either one is alright.
